Chinjak Festival(5)-International, 2014 is organized by Innovative Youth Society, Imphal in association with BOSS JUICES, Imphal. Media Partnered by Imphal Free Press

From 6 –16 November, 2014 at Pisum Yaipha Lamjing Lup Ground, Pisum Ningom Leikai, Pisum, Imphal West, Manipur.

40 local stalls and 5 International stalls shall produce 140 local Traditional & Indigenous menu and 20 International menus.

As an initiative to promote or encourage various Local, National and International Tourist foodies to be attracted through this mouth watering and taste bud tantalizing festival of foods. The IYS is committed to organize Indigenous fodd festival every year with an objective to Preserve Promote and Produce the Indigenous foods of Manipur and North East India at large.

A Public Kitchen shall be set up for the visitor’s where each one of you can learn and experience the art of preparing indigenous and traditional foods of Manipur which will be guided and supported by volunteers of the festival with recipe.

Objective of the Chinjak Festival-International is to get exposure and opportunity to exchange the knowledge of food catering, garnishing, management and culture etc. and also to attract the visitors by introducing various international menus during the festival.

In the next five years, the Chinjak Festival Management Team is looking forward to serve the world with various Indigenous and Traditional Foods of Manipur.

Record for the Longest Green Salad

The India Book of Record’s RECORD BREAKER’S FESTIVAL 2013 has felicitated and awarded The Innovative Youth’s Society and BOSS Juices, Imphal at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra, Sector-6, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The Festival was also attended with 100 Record Breakers from all over the country with delegates from Vietnam Book of Records and World Record’s University, Britain.

The Innovative Youth Society and BOSS JUICES, represented by Khuraijam Athouba (Secretary), Usham Bentosh (Treasurer) for Innovative Youth Society and Nahakpam Shanta (Proprietor) and Mayengbam Sophia (Brand Ambassador) for BOSS JUICES, attended the festival and was conferred with a Gold Medal, Memento and a Citation.

The Record holding team was also being offered to apply and submit a Thesis regarding the attempt and successfully holding the record for making the Longest Green Salad from World Record University, Britain and receive a Doctorate Degree.

The Record for the Longest Green Salad was successfully conducted during CHINJAK FESTIVAL (III)-INTERNATIONAL held in the month of April, 2012 at Imphal.

This April, At Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen Campus, Palace Compound, Imphal 

After the successful experience experimented during the  Chinjak Festival (II)-International held from  22nd April-1st May 2011 at Iboyima Shuamang Leela Shanglen,Imphal, Organized by Innovative Youth Society in association with The Department of Tourism, Govt. Of Manipur. The Innovative Youth Society has now come up with an aim to promote, produce and preserve all traditional and indigenous food items of Manipur. The Innovative Youth Society, Nagamapal RIMS Road, Imphal is back with a longer vision to move forward "Come Eat and Promote" for the 3rd time at large. Chinjak Festival(III)-International, 2012 is to be organized with a larger prospect as to increase in the number of participants representing various communities from far and near of the state to promote and preserve their traditional/indigenous food items hand in hand. In this 3rd edition of the Festival, various International and National Communities like The NAGAS, MIZOS, KOREAN, THAI, CHINESE, TIBETAN, MYANMAREES, VIETNAM, LAO, SINGAPORE shall be participating representing their respective countries and communities which shall be a main attraction of the festival to attract tourist from various places of the globe. This festival will also provide a platform to organize Food Education Exchange Program among the Local, National and International participants in the field of food catering, services and management to upgrade at an International standard in all fields of Service, Catering, Hospitality and Management which could be major key components of the Tourism Industry of the state.

Chinjak Festival(II)-International Concludes!

The Innovative Youth Society in Association with Department of Tourism, Govt.. of Manipur’s 10 days long Chinjak Festival (II) International concluded today with 3000 odd visitors converging for one last bite at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen Complex here in Imphal.

With Tourism Commissioner presiding the Formal closing function, Mr. Kh. Athouba,  Managing Director of the Festival gave a report on the conduct of Chinjak Festival (II) International.

I n the 10 days long event participated by four international communities and  various local communities of the state producing and promoting 22 international menus and 140 local traditional menus.

Amazingly 35000 visitors witnessed the event and tasted 100 varieties of food items.

The overall business record reaches 7.5 Lakhs in the ten days time, which is 83.333 thousand and at an average sale record.

Some of the most popular food during the festival are Korean- Kimchi(Fermented Vegetable) and Kimbap(Rice roll), Thai-Tomyam(Gren vegetable) and Kow Pad(Fish fried rice), Chinese-Pla Nung (Steam Fish), Jub Chai ( Mix Vegetable),, Kap Pro pra(Soup) and Tibetan-Lambhi(Steam Flour) and  Cold Thukpa for International and among the local foods every visitors takes a bite of Kakching- Chak hao matum, Nambol -Tharoi, Bashikhong- Khajing and Kongreng. Among the beverages Ukhrul fermented juice of Heikru, Heitroi and Lafoi, Andro Pukyu/Waiyu was common to all the visitors from all age groups.

The Best Participant of the Festival Award was backed by Yendrembam Jamini Devi of Kakching Khunyai Leikai who produced Chak hao matum Chak hao Kher and Moom Kher. She was encouraged with a Cash Award of Rs 2000/- and a Cretificate of Merit.

Tourism Commissioner in his speech invites all the International Participants to come back again and take part in the coming Chinjak Festival and Manipur Sangai Festival, 2011 in the month of October and November 2011 in Imphal. With this Shri KK Chhetry, Commissioner Tourism formally closed the Chinjak Festival (II) International and it ended with Dance and Games by 8:30 pm in the evening.
